Mall entrance for the Belk women's store at Charlottesville Fashion Square in Albemarle County, Virginia. This store was an original anchor tenant of the mall, opening as Leggett, and was converted to the Belk nameplate in 1996 along with the rest of the Leggett chain following the full acquisition of Leggett by Belk (the two companies were somewhat related prior to this acquisition, but this made them into one company).
This was the mall's only Belk store until 1999, when Belk opened a second store across the mall from this store in the former Stone & Thomas building to house the men's, children's, and home product lines. At that time, this store was changed to sell only the women's product lines.
