Double railing on a raised walkway at the Westfield World Trade Center shopping mall. The second railing is clearly portable, and appears to be a patch on a poor design. The original railing flares outward, and this additional barrier keeps people from getting too close to it. I found it annoying because I wanted to get right up against it for photography purposes, but I assume that it’s there for safety reasons. I wonder if this design will eventually be corrected with a better railing that doesn’t require a second barrier.
