Emergency phone in a stairwell at Chandler Hall (Potomac Hall from 1998 to 2018), a dormitory on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The current device has a direct line to the JMU police department. Prior to the installation of the current device, this spot contained a two-way intercom system that allowed communication between the area of rescue assistance locations in the stairwells and a central station in the main vestibule. Having seen the older system in use, having a direct line to the campus police department makes far more sense than an intercom connection to the vestibule.
