Mills Creek Reservoir, a manmade lake in the George Washington National Forest near Lyndhurst, Virginia. This photo shows a dedication plaque commemorating the dam's rehabilitation in 2013. This plaque bothered me a lot. It is skewed, and there is no reconciling that skew, i.e. it does not correspond with anything considered “level” anywhere. I couldn’t help but think that they spent all that money rehabbing the dam, and they couldn’t even be bothered to hang the plaque properly.
