Our rented Jeep Renegade parked on the roadside near the sign at the boundary between Cumberland County and Roane County on westbound Interstate 40 in Tennessee. This sign contains the county name, and also notifies travelers that they have entered the Central time zone. The easternmost third of the state is in the Eastern time zone, while the remainder is in the Central time zone.
