The abandoned segment of the Pennsylvania Turnpike as it passes by US 30 near Breezewood, Pennsylvania. US 30 runs diagonally across this image, while the former turnpike mainline runs top to bottom. The section of turnpike below US 30, closest to the camera, is still owned by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, while the section above US 30, further from the camera, is owned by the Southern Alleghenies Conservancy, and is open to the public as a hiking and biking trail. The two sections were previously connected by a bridge over US 30, but this bridge was demolished in the 2000s.
