The location is in a building constructed to house a branch of Planters Bank, which was a Staunton-based company that had locations throughout Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County. The bank was later acquired by StellarOne, and the bank later operated as Union Bank & Trust and Atlantic Union Bank following a series of mergers over the years. Atlantic Union Bank closed the branch in March 2022 along with fifteen other branches in other areas. Starbucks opened at this location in late 2023.
