Wall signage at Mount Vernon Square station in Washington, DC. Mount Vernon Square serves a dual purpose as a terminal station for Yellow Line trains, and as a through station for Green Line trains. As such, Yellow Line trains go out of service here, and then enter a pocket track north of the station in order to change to the opposite track before beginning a southbound trip towards Huntington.
