Sign between the two sides of the northbound lanes on the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) near Elizabeth for Exits 14 and 14C, taking travelers to Newark Airport and the Holland Tunnel via I-78, US 1, and US 9. As I understand it, the use of the brown background for Newark Airport predates the MUTCD specification that brown is for recreational sites, and was used to match the airport's general color scheme at one time. And apparently, such a treatment is now traditional, and has been carried on to the present day.
