Blank number plate for a 1000-Series railcar (1015 in this case) for the Washington Metro.
When the car numbers were moved to the roofline of the car fleet-wide, the car numbers were removed from their original locations. The 1000-Series cars had the number on a plate at the cab end of the cars, and in most cases, this plate was retained, with only the numbers removed.
