The "Drop Tower: Scream Zone" ride at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia.

The Drop Tower ride takes riders up to the top of the pole on the circular ride mechanism, and then literally drops the entire unit, allowing it to fall much of the way down before slowing the fall down, gently returning to the ground.
