Debut of the Washington Metro's new 7000-Series railcars on January 6, 2014 at Greenbelt station in Prince George's County, Maryland. This four-car set, numbered 7004-7007, will undergo acceptance testing for several months before entering revenue service.
This photo shows an exterior destination sign. There are now two destination signs per side, rather than the one sign on previous car models.
Note the use of mixed-case text on the sign, which was also used when the 5000-Series railcars were introduced, before being changed to all-uppercase in 2003.
