Pedestrian mall in downtown Cumberland, Maryland. Three blocks of Baltimore Street were converted to a pedestrian mall in 1978 as part of a downtown revitalization project. In 2023, utility work required digging up the pedestrian mall, and upon completion, Baltimore Street would be restored through this area as a one-lane thoroughfare.
