Octagonal "SLOW" sign

Very old octagonal "SLOW" sign on Williams Street in Ridgeley, West Virginia. The sign is quite faded, but I assume that its original colors were black text on a yellow background. If this sign were erected today, it would likely be diamond-shaped.
