An activated Simplex station photographed through a window at Pilot House, an abandoned restaurant at the end of Ballance Drive in Buxton, North Carolina. Considering that no alarms were sounding, I assume that power to the building has been shut off, and that any backup systems have long since run out. I would also guess, considering the building's abandoned state, that this pull station has been in the down position for a number of years.
