The confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, viewed from the Maryland Heights overlook, across the Potomac River from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Due to different levels of sediment carried, the Potomac River is darker in color than the Shenandoah River up to the point where the rivers merge.
