Retail buildings at the Kohl's shopping center in Charlottesville, Virginia. These buildings, built in the mid 2000s, are partially occupied, with some tenant spaces' having never been occupied. Clearly, the late 2000s recession put the brakes on the development of this shopping center, as many tracts of land were graded in anticipation of future construction that never came, leaving the Kohl's largely standing alone, with these two retail buildings across the parking lot.
