A DJI Air 2S drone sits on the ground prior to its maiden flight.
This drone was an unplanned purchase the day before. I was at the midpoint of a weeklong trip, where I visited parts of eastern North Carolina and the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, and while I was flying my previous drone, a DJI Mavic Mini, over a shopping mall in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the drone threw a propeller blade at an altitude of just under 400 feet. This caused the drone to fall to the ground, causing damage to the camera mount and one of the arms. Being in the middle of a trip, I would not have the opportunity to fix the Mini, and most of my plans for Hampton Roads involved the use of the drone. I also recognized that while the Mavic Mini was a good starter drone, I had outgrown it in a year's time. So I took this as an opportunity to upgrade to something better, and this was that upgrade.
