Demolition progress at the former Staunton Mall, on June 4, 2022. Staunton Mall closed at the end of 2020, and demolition began in 2022. This photo shows the mall from the air, from the northwest. Note that the front parking lot is still fully intact, as there are outparcel businesses on the front side of the mall property that continue to utilize it. Additionally, the Belk store is still open for business, and is expected to remain open throughout the redevelopment process.
