Eastern portal of the Blue Ridge Tunnel, an historic railroad tunnel that carried rail traffic underneath Rockfish Gap, viewed from inside the tunnel. The tunnel served as a railroad tunnel from 1858 to 1944, when it was replaced by a larger tunnel nearby. The original tunnel sat disused for a number of years, and then was later converted to a rail trail, which opened on September 21, 2020.
