Passenger seating on a soft mockup of a pair of 8000-Series railcars, at Metro's Fleet of the Future Expo on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The seats on the mockup were made of hard plastic, but the seats on the final product will more closely resemble those on the 7000-Series cars.

The purpose of the Fleet of the Future Expo was to demonstrate to the public the various features of the upcoming 8000-Series railcars, which will be manufactured by Hitachi.
