Operator's console in the cab on a soft mockup of a pair of 8000-Series railcars, at Metro's Fleet of the Future Expo on the National Mall in Washington, DC. It is largely similar to the console on the 7000-Series railcars, but with a slightly different button arrangement, and larger screens. The two analog gauges on the 7000-Series, for brake cylinder and brake pipe pressures, are missing here and will be displayed on screens instead, which means that, as I understand it, the 8000-Series will have a full glass cockpit.

The purpose of the Fleet of the Future Expo was to demonstrate to the public the various features of the upcoming 8000-Series railcars, which will be manufactured by Hitachi.
