Roses department store in the Willow Oak Plaza shopping center in Waynesboro, Virginia.

This store has a somewhat unusual history. Roses operated in this space until 2001, at which time they conducted a going out of business sale and vacated the space. Between 2001 and 2009, the former Roses building sat vacant. Then in 2009, Roses returned to Waynesboro, opening back up in its old space. The only difference on the exterior is a new sign. The pre-2001 sign had a white face and the lettering was lit from within. The lettering on the 2009 sign is black, and is lit from behind.
