The gymnasium has undergone several modifications since its construction in 1978. As originally built, the facility had wooden bleachers, high bay lighting, and a color scheme that was dark green from the rafter level up to and including the rafters ceiling, and a lighter institutional green below. The gymnasium received off-white ("mushroom") walls in 1994 during a school-wide repainting, while retaining the dark green rafters and ceiling. The gymnasium was later repainted to the color scheme seen here during another school-wide repainting in 2010-2011, and the high bay lights were replaced with more efficient fixtures.
