A sign for Adam Eidinger's 2004 campaign with the DC Statehood Green Party for shadow representative. Shadow representative, along with two shadow senators, is a largely symbolic elected role that is recognized as a member of Congress by the District of Columbia, but not formally recognized by the House of Representatives or the Senate. The shadow representative is a distinct position from the District's nonvoting delegate to Congress.
