Train derailer past the switch at the western end of a 5,842-foot siding, just east of the grade crossing with Route 608 in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. This derailer protects a section of track that ends just to the west of this location. As no train should ever travel on this stub track (likely a remnant from what was once a longer second track), the purpose of this derailer is to guide any train that somehow ends up on this track off of the rails and to a stop.
