Empty sign frame at the former Howard Johnson's restaurant near Rockfish Gap in Augusta County, Virginia. This restaurant opened in 1948 and operated for 50 years before closing permanently in 1998. The Franchise Associates-era Howard Johnson's sign remained in place until the mid 2000s, when it was finally blown out.
